Visual editor for /tellraw JSON text: colors, styles, click and hover events. Includes a raw JSON mode.
JSON text components are the format the /tellraw command accepts. They can do everything plain §-text cannot: several colours inside one word, hover tooltips, click actions, inserted text and nested formatting.
The structure is made of objects with text, color, bold, italic, font, clickEvent, hoverEvent and extra fields. The extra field nests one component inside another — that is how multi-coloured text is really built.
The tool works in two modes: a visual one where you assemble elements with forms, and a raw one where you can paste existing JSON — including a single object, not only an array.
Assemble the text elements: type a fragment, pick a colour (including a custom shade) and styles.
Optionally set a click action, a hover tooltip, a font, or shift-click inserted text.
Switch to JSON mode to inspect the result and copy it.
Paste the finished command into chat or a command block (enable commands in world settings).
The command accepts both. The tool reads either form correctly and always emits valid syntax.
extra nests child components in a parent. To make one part of a phrase green and another gold, create an outer object with no text and put the coloured fragments in extra.
Use hoverEvent with the action show_item and put the item id in contents. For mobs use show_entity with a type field.
Paste the command into chat with commands enabled.
