Search Minecraft's internal identifiers: items, blocks, enchantments, effects and mobs for the version you have selected.
Minecraft's internal identifiers are needed constantly: in /give and /setblock commands, in datapacks, in plugin configs and when working with NBT. In game you can only reach them through Tab completion in chat with commands enabled — and Bedrock doesn't always offer them at all.
This reference lists every identifier for the selected version and copies it to the clipboard in one click — with the minecraft: prefix already in place, ready to paste into a command.
The lists change with the version: items and blocks are added in nearly every update, which is why the version selector genuinely affects what you see here.
Pick a section: items, blocks, enchantments, effects or mobs.
Type part of the name or the identifier — search covers both the English name and the ID.
Click the copy button next to the row you need.
Paste it into your command — the minecraft: prefix is already there.
It isn't — the internal identifier is the lowercased name with underscores. Diamond Sword in English is diamond_sword as an ID.
Yes, the game accepts the short form. But datapacks and some plugins require the prefix, so it's simpler to keep it.
It probably arrived in a newer version. Switch the version selector at the top, or search the neighbouring category.
For most blocks they match, but Bedrock has one ID with a numeric value for dyed variants while Java has sixteen separate ones — white_wool and lime_wool, for instance.
