All 16 chat colors and 6 styles. Click swatches, type text with &-codes and watch the live preview.
Colour codes let you style text in chat, on signs, in item names and in a server MOTD. The classic codes look like &c, &l or §c, §l.
Since 1.16 Minecraft also supports sixteen million colours — any shade is written as §x§R§R§G§G§B§B. This tool gives you the standard palette, a custom colour picker and a per-character gradient builder.
Formatting layers on top of colour: §l makes text bold, §o italic, §n underlined, §m struck through and §k obfuscated (it flickers in chat). §r resets everything.
Type your text — insert colours with the buttons or write codes directly: &c, &#FF5555 or <gradient:#a:#b>.
Pick styles: bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, obfuscation.
Copy the result with “Copy with §” — ready for chat, /tellraw or server.properties.
“Copy with &” gives the variant for plugins and configs that expect an ampersand.
§ is the character the game itself uses in chat and commands. & is a convenient stand-in for plugin configs and server.properties. The game ignores it in chat, so writing commands with & is convenient.
Use the MiniMessage tag <gradient:#FF0000:#0000FF>text</gradient>. The tool expands it per character into ordinary colour codes, which every game version understands.
Hex colours are supported from 1.16 onwards. Older versions only understand the 16 classic codes.
